WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A MEMBER OF THE B-CORP COMMUNITY?

WE’RE PROUD TO BE A CERTIFIED B CORPORATION

We’re proud to be part of the global B Corp community, a group of businesses dedicated to meeting the highest standards of social and environmental impact. We became B Corp Certified back in January, becoming the second ever UK B Corp cider makers.

We’re the only UK B Corp Certified cider makers using British fruit.

WHAT IS A B CORP?

Certified B Corporations, or B Corps, are companies verified by B `Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

Certification isn’t just a badge; it means we’re held accountable to B Lab’s rigorous standards, which are constantly evolving with input from expert stakeholders.

HOW DID WE DO IT?

To achieve and maintain certification, we had to:

1. Complete the B Impact Assessment and achieve a verified total score of 80+ points.

2. Meet the B Corp legal requirement – amending Articles of Association to embed a commitment to consider the impact of decisions on all stakeholders.

3. Sign the B Corp Agreement and the Declaration of Interdependence

Publicly list our impact score on the B Lab Directory and recertify every 3 years.

We’ve phased out bag-in-box cider

Though popular with customers, we made the tough call to discontinue our bag-in-box range in 2021 to reduce our reliance on single-use plastics.

OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

As a small, family-owned cidery, sustainability is woven into everything we do. We believe in putting the planet before profit, and while we know we’re not perfect, we’re proud of the practical steps we’re taking every day to reduce our impact. Here are some small (but mighty) actions we’ve embedded into our business:

Four bottles of Napton Cidery cider, each with a different label and flavor, are arranged on a wooden surface surrounded by apples and green foliage.

Our bottles are 100% recyclable

From the glass to the label and cap, every part of our bottle can be recycled. We’ve also switched to a lighter bottle to reduce our use of excess glass.

We use recyclable shipping materials

Every element of our web shop packaging, from the box to the tape, is recyclable. It’s a small detail, but one that
adds up with every order we send out.

WE SUPPORT WARWICKSHIRE WILDLIFE TRUST

We've supported Warwickshire Wildlife Trust through several donations over the years.

We’ve planted our own orchard

Thanks to the success of our Taproom Green Energy Project funding round, we’ve planted over a dozen apple trees. They’ve just blossomed for the first time, and we’re excited for the biodiversity they’ll attract.

WE USE APPLES FROM UNSPRAYED ORCHARDS

We work with growers who share our respect for the land, sourcing apples only from traditional orchards where biodiversity thrives.
