Working with our local community

As a small family-run business, we wouldn’t be where we are today without the support of our local community. Starting out by making cider at home for just our friends and family and then a few pubs in the village, our first local supporters were a huge part of why we decided to go all in with Napton Cidery, and we’re so glad that we did!

One of the very first pubs to sell Napton Cider was The Folly Inn, a very special quintessentially British establishment on the beautiful canal in Napton-on-the-Hill, just down the lane from our cidery. The Folly is a firm customer favourite not just in Napton but across Warwickshire, and is so well-loved that it recently made an appearance on BBC Countryfile. We managed to sneak in too: the Folly’s wonderfully eccentric owner Mark kindly displayed our cider during filming… I wouldn’t quite say that this makes us famous, but I’d like to think that we turned some heads with our colourful packaging!

Another business that’s been on this journey with us since the beginning is Napton Village Stores, which is just a short walk from our cidery (yes, Napton on the Hill is quite a small village!). Not only have they sold our cider since 2015, they now supply the delicious platters that we serve during our cider tasting evenings; the Ploughman’s Platter in particular has received excellent reviews. The Village Stores stock local vegetables, meat and dairy, including produce from the famous Napton Water Buffalo, which matches our sustainable ethos perfectly and supports hard-working farmers in the area. They are one of many amazing farm shops that stock our cider; as a producer of artisan drinks, we work closely with farm shops who deliver the best British produce to their customers and they are a huge part of our business.

We’re always creating new partnerships too: we’ve recently become a sponsor of Napton Football Club, the village’s recently reformed football club that dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. The club’s Senior Manager, Taylor Allen, commented:

“As a club we are so happy to be working with such integral companies within our community. It was clear from the very first meetings that both Trendgrey and Napton Cidery see the vision we have for our Club and the village that we are proud to call our home. It’s a huge relief to have the backing from individuals that feel the same way we do about Napton as a football club and ultimately as a community and hopefully together we can keep on pushing further and further.”

We don’t want to seem biased, but… UP THE HILL!

Aaaand last but not least (we hope), Napton Cidery Tap Room, please see our Visit page if you’d like more information about our Tap Room. This list is growing all the time and so are our connections to our local community. We love being involved in Napton and Warwickshire and we hope to keep doing what we can to support our community, just as they have helped us to build our own business and create cider recipes that we’re really proud of.
